Lincoln's humor
Today's history is Darwin's Day (born in 809 as British biologist Charles Darwin). A few days ago, we introduced a book about Darwin and his evolution on TV, and it was also seen as the result of our human race's overcoming and adapting to the terrible changes. That's why it's so famous.
"A living species is not a smart or strong species, but a species that adapts to change." I think there's a lot of implications for modern times. Darwin would like to check the new book next time and get a summary.
And today, 1809, Lincoln was born.
So let me introduce Lincoln a little bit more. When I was young, I knew only the president who ordered the emancipation of slaves, and the more I knew, the better I felt, knowledge, wisdom, humor, writing, conversation and so on. And today, 1804, the German philosopher Immanuel Kant died.
◇ Lincoln's Humor 1
Lincoln, who had many hardships in life, ran for Congress. In a joint campaign, the rival candidate attacked Lincoln.
"Lincoln is not very religious."
Then he shouted at the audience again.
"If you want to go to heaven, raise your hands."
The audience at the meeting raised their hands. But Lincoln was not raising his hand.
Then he shouted at Lincoln.
"Lincoln, do you mean you want to go to hell?"
When Lincoln heard this, he laughed and shouted at the crowd.
"You're welcome. I don't want to go to heaven or hell now. I want to go to the National Assemble now."
The crowd applauded Lincoln and he turned things around with a word of humor.
◇ 10 cents and 50 cents
There was a kid in town who was teased as a fool by his brothers. The child always chose a dime when asked to choose between a dime and a dime or a 50 cent coin.
"Hey! You idiot, do you think a dime is the best?"
The local children teased him as a stupid child who couldn't even tell him how much money. One day, a worse-than-expected local grandfather told me that a 50 cent coin was bigger and better. Then the child replied:
"I know. Grandpa, keep your eyes open. The minute I get a 50 cent bill, my pocket money gets cut."
The child later grew up to be President Lincoln.
The importance of preparation time
Two villagers went to the mountain to do wood. The two men cut down the tree hard for five hours with the same-looking axe.
But there was a difference in the way the two worked. One man cut down the tree for five hours without a break, another man cut down the tree for 50 minutes and then took a rest for 10
Later, however, the results made a stark difference. The man who took 10 minutes off and cut down more trees than the man who worked five hours straight.
The woodcutter, who worked nonstop, thought it strange and asked the secret. Then he replied:
"I changed the axe blades during the ten-minute break."
This article has implications for our lives. Living hard is important, but self-improvement is important, harmony with intermission is needed, and the use of time to enhance the process of improving efficiency is shown in the text. The more you use an axe, the more dull it will become. On such a dull day, the trees will fall if more is taken. It is important to use a lot, but under the best conditions and perhaps resting is an extension of work.
◇ Lincoln's famous saying
The road I walked was rough and slippery.
So I used to slip and fall on the street.
But I soon regained my strength and said to myself,
"It's okay, the road is a little slippery, but it's not a cliff."

* The reason why mammals have so far been able to survive the fierce competition for survival and remain as living warrants was not because they were strong, nor because they were intelligent, but only because they were best adapted to change.

Second, love someone, thirdly, hope for something. - Kant.

* When I argue with someone, I spend a third of my time organizing myself and what I will say.
The other two-thirds are devoted to thinking about who the other person is and what he will talk about.
