A husband and wife are a relationship between thread and needle.

If the needle goes too fast, the thread breaks, and if the needle goes too slow, it gets tangled.

A reporter asked U.S. President Eisenhower.

​

"What is true leadership?"

​

Eisenhower then took out his usual thread from his pocket and put it on his desk.

​

"Take the front of this thread and pull it."

​

The reporter pulled the thread and the thread moved toward him.

​

"This time, push this thread from the back."

​

The soft thread that pushed from behind could not be pushed forward. It just kept bending. Eisenhower then said with a smile.

"Do you understand now? You can trust and follow the leader only when you see him.

​
