Poland and Switzerland

◇ Poland and Switzerland

When World War II broke out, there were two neutral countries in Europe, Poland and Switzerland, which declared they would not stand on either side. Germany needed abundant food, resources and Swiss roads linked to its ally Italy to win the war.

Germany prepared to invade these countries, and the results were quite different. First, Poland was easily captured a month after being attacked by the German army. What is the reason?

There were about 1.7 million troops in Poland, a double-leaf fighter jet that was scratched in World War I, and a cavalry squad that was renowned throughout Europe. But Poland’s preparations were only that, and were not aware of Germany’s preparations for an invasion, and were content with the declaration of neutrality and neglected to prepare for war. In the end, Poland was brutally destroyed by the attack of new German tanks and bombers, and the majority of its people had to flee to other countries.

Switzerland, on the other hand, was different. The people, mostly militias, had a high level of combat capability. And in most buildings, as well as the solid battle positions that are made up of military key points, the air defense system has been used.
Underground in major cities. The birds were in full combat readiness at any time. In addition to such perfect preparations, Gen. Henri Gnisan, a former Swiss military leader, said.

"If German forces invade Switzerland, we will cut off all roads leading to Italy and fight to the last man!" In the end, the German army gave up the invasion of Switzerland.

Poland, which was oblivious to Germany’s ambitions and settled for outdated defense capabilities, could have relied on a defensive landscape, but Switzerland, where everyone joined forces to prepare for war, was self-evident.
