"General Motors, General Electric, General Food, and General MacArthur......... every General I know is on the Republican list. But General Wellfair is on our Democratic list.

Gerald Ford, the 35th president of the United States, did not gain much popularity among the public as his clear character was not highlighted at the time of his election.

Since he is neither from a prestigious family like Kennedy nor has he achieved anything tangible, critics say he is a president with little hope.

He was always haunted by the same sense of defeat as he had won the election.

The mood turned around after he said in the opening of his inaugural speech.

"I'm not Lincoln, I'm just Ford."

Ford and Lincoln emphasized the public image over the upper class by comparing the public car Ford to the upper class car Lincoln by the name of the car.

It means that the battle of whales is a battle of shrimps, which is figuratively interpreted to mean that the weak are harmed by the strong and have nothing to do with the fighting of each other.
