A Roman tale

◇ The following is a preface to Nanami Shiono’s book, 《The Story of Romain  》

The Romans were inferior to the Greeks in intelligence; they were inferior to the Celts and the Germans in physical strength; they were inferior to the Etruscans in technology; and they were inferior to the Carthagans in economic power.
So why could they be the only ones so prosperous? What was the power that supported the Roman Empire in the millennium?

Nanami Shiono asked questions but gave no clear answer. History is the result of many people's hard work. But one of the things she hinted at as a likely answer is the spirit of Noblesse oblige.

Roman leaders fought on their own in the event of war, and in peacetime, they built public facilities such as hospitals and bathrooms and donated them to citizens.

The Ulysses Hall was a building that Julius Caesar donated to the state after he returned from winning the war in Gaulia. The Romans honored the building with the name of the donor.

This initiative and sharing of the Roman leader laid the foundation for the prosperity of the Roman Empire.
- Of all the story economics that you see in the Gossa language,

◇ Spring is already at the end of the tree.

I've been looking for spring all day, and I can't find it.
I even went to the clouds in my straw shoes.
Come back, smile, smell the plum.
Spring was already at the end of the tree.

The poem is written in the book Haklimok-ro by Na Dae-kyung, titled "The Book of the Unknown Mistress."

In spite of the fact that it seems far away, the truth is near, and people try to reach the valley of Sinshan, where they cannot see the near truth and happiness, and seek the wise man after taking the west tower.

◇ 增信釋疑
promote trust and dispel suspicion

◇ Danjae Shin Chae-ho's famous saying

"A nation that has forgotten its territory can be reborn, but a nation that has forgotten its history cannot."

"A nation that has forgotten history has no future."
