◇ AI and legislation

There is a Korean founder in the U.S. startup industry who influences the U.S. political community with artificial intelligence. The main character is Timothy Hwang (27, Hwang Tae-il), founder and CEO of the data analysis service company FiscalNote.

The young man in his 20s drew a total of $230 million from venture capitalists, while CNN picked Piscal Note as one of the top 10 startups to change the world.

Pecal Note is a groundbreaking product that allows users to search for information services on the Internet and mobile and search for U.S. legal content and legal policies. (In the meantime, legal services are only available through lawyers.)

Piscal Note, in particular, provides information on analyzing big data released by the federal and 50 state governments, Congress and courts in real time with artificial intelligence. 

Through this analysis, the details of the bill presented to Congress and the past voting patterns of backers, upper and lower house members are analyzed to the extent of whether they will approve or oppose it, and how likely the bill will be passed. Hwang says the forecast for the bill's passage is more than 90 percent.

Pisculnott signed a $180 million deal with leading British media company Economist Group.

Timothy Hwang worked for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's election camp in high school and later went to Princeton University to major in politics and computer science.

인공지능(AI)으로 미국 정치계에 영향을 주는 미국 스타트업 업계의 한인 창업자가 있다. 이 주인공은 데이터 분석 서비스 기업 피스컬노트 (FiscalNote) 창업자 겸 CEO인 티모시 황(27세, 황태일)

이 20대 청년은 벤처투자자들로부터 총 2억 3,000만달러의 투자를 이끌어냈으며 CNN방송은 피스컬노트를 ‘세계를 바꿀 10대 스타트업’으로 꼽았다.

'피스컬노트'는 인터넷과 모바일로 미국의 법률내용과 법 관련 정책에 관한 사항을 검색해서 정보 서비스를 받을 수 있는 획기적인 상품이다. (그동안 법률관련 서비스는 변호사를 통해 받을 수밖에 없는 구조)

특히 피스컬노트는 연방과 50개 주 정부, 의회, 법원이 공개한 빅데이터를 실시간으로 인공지능으로 분석한 정보를 제공한다. 

이를 통해 의회에 올라온 법안의 세부 내용과 후원자, 상·하원 의원의 과거 투표 성향을 분석해 이들이 찬성 혹은 반대할 것인지, 실제 법안이 통과될 가능성은 얼마인지까지 분석한다. 황 대표는 “법안 통과 예측도는 90%이상이다”고 말한다.

피스컬노트는 영국의 유력 언론사인 이코노미스트 그룹과 1억 8,000만 달러의 계약을 체결했다.

티모시 황은 고등학교 시절 버락 오바마 민주당 대통령 후보 선거캠프에서 일했으며 이후 프린스턴대에 진학해 정치학과 컴퓨터공학을 전공했다.

낡은 인습에서 벗어나지 못하고 구차스럽게 적당히 임시 방편으로 땜질하는 것.

인순고식은 상황을 낙관하면서 "그저 잘 되겠지, 별 일 없겠지"라고 방심하면서 문제를 자꾸 키워간다는 뜻이고, 구차미봉은 인순고식하여 문제가 쌓이고 또 쌓이므로서 결국 수습하지 못 할 지경에 이르러도 적당한 미봉책만으로 위기를 모면해 가는 허망한 경우를 뜻한다.
