미 해병대에는 '70퍼센트 룰'이라는 것이 있다. 70% 정도 확신이 들면 95% 확신이 들 때까지 기다리지 말고 일단 의사결정을 하고 실행에 옮기라는 것이다.

'아직 결정하지 않은 상태'를 오랫동안 방치하지 말라는 얘기이다. 

불완전한 정보로 압박속에서 빠른 결정을 내리기 위해 70%만 의견일치를 보면 나머지 사항은 부하들이 상황을 보아가면서 해결하도록 하는것이다.

완벽한 정보를 얻기위해 우물쭈물하다가 치명적인 위험에 노출되기 보다는 좀 부족해도 신속하게 행동하는것이 중요하다.

근심은 먼저 하고 즐거움은 나중에 한다.
