◇ Alexander the Great's regret

Alexander the Great received a precious gift from a close friend. They were two very well-trained hounds. Alexander the Great, who enjoyed hunting, was delighted.

One day Alexander the Great went on a rabbit hunt with a hound. The hounds seemed to have no intention of hunting. I was lying around staring at the rabbit. Alexander got angry and killed the hounds.

I shouted with my friend who gave me a hound.

"Why did you give me the ugly dogs that couldn't catch a single rabbit? I killed all those useless hounds."

Friend said with a look of surprise at Alexander's words.

"They are not dogs trained to catch rabbits. These are dogs trained to hunt tigers and lions."

A wise and wise man does not miscalculate things by taking a moment's emotion when making important decisions. And they don't make wrong decisions by looking at the little things in front of them.

◇ 알렉산더 대왕의 후회

알렉산더 대왕이 친한 친구로부터 귀한 선물을 받았다. 아주 훈련이 잘된 사냥개 두 마리였다. 사냥을 즐겼던 알렉산더 대왕은 기뻐했다.

어느 날 알렉산더 대왕은 사냥개를 데리고 토끼사냥에 나섰다. 사냥개들은 사냥할 생각이 전혀 없는 듯했다. 토끼를 물끄러미 바라보며 빈둥빈둥 누워 있었다. 알렉산더는 화가 나서 사냥개들을 죽였다.

사냥개를 선물한 친구를 불러 호통을 쳤다.

"토끼 한 마리도 잡지 못하는 볼품없는 개들을 왜 내게 선물했는가? 그 쓸모없는 사냥개들을 내가 모두 죽여 버렸다."

친구는 알렉산더의 말을 듣고 놀란 표정으로 말했다.

"그 사냥개들은 토끼를 잡기 위해 훈련된 개들이 아닙니다. 호랑이와 사자를 사냥하기 위해 훈련받은 개들입니다."

현명하고 지혜로운 사람은 중요한 결정을 내릴 때 순간의 감정에 취해 일을 그르치지 않는다. 그리고 눈앞에 보이는 작은 것들만 보고 잘못된 판단을 내리지도 않는다.
