◇ 適材適所

At one management meeting, several presidents talked about what they realized while running the company.

One of them said.

"I have three employees in my company who are hard to become, and I'm going to kick them out if I have a chance.

One guy's got this bad all day. That's bad. That's bad. He's worried. He's worried about what's going to happen to the factory he's meeting. And another guy doesn't go to work and just sits outside."

The other president, who heard that, thought for a moment and said to him,

"Then can you send those employees to our company?"

The three employees came to work at the new company the next day, and the new president gave them what they had to do.

어느 경영자모임에서 사장 몇 명이 자신이 회사를 경영하며 깨달은 바에 대해 이야기 했다.

그 중 한 사장이 말했다.

“우리 회사에 인재가 되기는 힘든 직원 셋이 있는데 기회가 있으면 쫓아낼 생각이라네.

한 녀석은 하루 종일 이게 나쁘다 저게 나쁘다 트집만 잡아대고, 한 녀석은 걱정이 많아 만날 공장에 무슨 일이 생길까봐 난리고, 또 한 놈은 출근도 안 하고 밖에서 빈둥댈 때가 많다니까."

그 말을 들은 다른 사장이 잠시 생각을 하더니 그에게 말했다

"그럼 그 직원들을 우리 회사에 보내줄 수 있겠나?"

세 직원은 다음 날 새로운 회사에 출근하게 됐고, 새 사장은 그들에게 해야 할 일을 나눠 줬다.

그는 트집 잡기를 좋아하는 직원에게는 제품의 품질을 관리하는 업무를 맡겼으며, 큰 일이 일어날까봐 걱정하는 직원에게는 보안시스템 관리 업무를 맡겼고, 밖에 나다니기 좋아하는 직원에게는 상품 홍보를 맡겨 하루 종일 외부에서 뛰어다니게 했다.

세 사람은 자신의 적성에 딱 맞는 임무가 주어지자 신나서 일자리로 달려갔다. 얼마 뒤, 공장의 경영 성과는 눈에 띄게 상승했다.
