◇ How to Get a Job

Man-deuk, who passed the entrance examination for a large company, was the key to finding a job.

It happened at an interview.

"Do you have a decoy?"

"My specialty is making people laugh."

"Well, try to be funny now."

The candidate then opened the door and went outside and said a word to the waiting people.

"Everyone, go back. Today's interview test is over."

◇ 家貧思良妻

When the family is difficult, I think of a good wife.

When the world is in a state of chaos, one can discern

A strong wind tells us which grass is straight.

The conversation between Wen Hui of the Yuan Dynasty, who asked Yi Geuk for advice for his appointment as Chancellor, is recorded.

Wi said to Lee, "If you are poor at home, you will draw a good wife, and if your country is in chaos, you will have a great fortune." Which one would be appropriate, my brother, the Holy Father or the Red Emperor?"

In response, Yi Guk tells Wen the following five points.

"When you are in a state of need, watch the man who comes and goes with you when you are rich; when you are in office, look at the man who is humble; when you are in need, look at what he does not do; and when you are in need, look at what he is not drunk."

◇ King Sejong's famous saying

* Showing faith is the most important thing in governing a country.

* Public office is not about taking someone I like, but choosing and appointing the person who can best accomplish the task. Even if it is still, and a vile servant to me. If you have been entrusted with talent, don't doubt it and don't let it be if you have any doubts.

* Ask whether this law is true, from government officials to the poor and humble people of civil families. If the people say the law is not good, it cannot be done.

◇ 취업 비결

대기업 입사시험에 합격한 만득이의 취업비결은 유머였다.

어느 면접장에서 있었던 일이다.

"장끼가 있습니까?"

"사람을 웃기는 것이 제 특기입니다."

"그럼 지금 한번 웃겨보세요."

그러자 응시자는 문을 열고 밖에 나가서 대기자들에게 한마디 했다.

"모두들 돌아가세요. 오늘 면접시험은 끝났습니다."

가정이 어려울 때 좋은 아내가 생각나고,

世亂識忠臣(세란식충신)
세상이 어지러울 때 충신을 분별할 수 있으며,

疾風知勁草(질풍지경초)
세찬 바람이 불면 어떤 풀이 곧은 풀인지 알 수 있다.

위나라 문후(文侯)가 재상 임명을 위해 이극(李克)에게 자문을 요청하면서 나눈 대화가 기록되어 있다.

위문후는 이극에게 말하길, 선생께서 과인에게 말씀하시길 ‘집안이 가난하면 어진 아내를 그리게 되고, 나라가 혼란하면 훌륭한 재상을 그리게 된다’라고 하셨습니다. 제 동생인 성자(成子)와 적황(翟璜) 중, 어떤 이가 적합합니까?라고 하였다.

이에 이극은 문후에게 다음과 같은 다섯 가지 사항을 진언한다.

"평소에 지낼 때는 그의 가까운 사람을 살피고, 부귀할 때에는 그와 왕래하는 사람을 살피고, 관직에 있을 때에는 그가 천거한 사람을 살피고, 곤궁할 때에는 그가 하지 않는 일을 살피고, 어려울 때에는 그가 취하지 않는 것을 살피십시오."


◇ 세종대왕 명언

* 나라를 다스리는 것은 믿음을 보이는 것이 가장 중요하다.

* 관직이란 내가 마음에 드는 사람을 데려다 앉히는 것이 아니라, 그 임무를 가장 잘 해낼 수 있는  사람을 택해 임명하는 것이다. 그것이 설령 정적이고, 나에게 불경한 신하일지라도 말이다. 인재를 얻어 맡겼으면 의심하지 말고 의심이 있으면 맡기지 말아야 한다.

* 벼슬아치부터 민가의 가난하고 비천한 백성에 이르기까지 모두 이 법에 대한 가부를 물어라. 만약 백성이 이 법이 좋지 않다고 하면 행할 수 없다.
