◇ How Evian Water succeeded (Storytelling)

In 1789, when the French Revolution took place, a mule with kidney stones was recuperating in Evian, a small snow-covered town of the Alps.

One day, a resident of the village advised him to drink underground water from the site because it is good for his health. After hearing the residents, the latter recovered from the disease because he drank the underground water of Evian village steadily.

Then medical scientists began studying the effects of groundwater in Evian Village. Evian groundwater has been purified by the rain in the Alps for about 15 years, and has been found to contain a large amount of human good ingredients, including minerals in the Evian groundwater.

Upon hearing the news, a resident of Evian commercialized the groundwater of Evian village into a drug, not just a concept of water, and as a result, Evian bottled water in 1879 received an official sales permit from the French government, making it the world's first water to be sold as a commodity.

Although expensive, Evian bottled water is gaining popularity because it contains stories that save people, not just drinking water. Now, 30 million bottles of bottled water are sold every month.

A dream is not only to 'have what is' but to 'rediscover what is.' He who has a dream gives value to what already exists.

◇ 에비앙 물의 성공 비결(스토리텔링)

프랑스혁명이 일어난 1789년, 눈 덮인 알프스의 작은 마을 에비앙에 신장결석을 앓고 있는 후작이 요양하고 있었다.

어느 날 마을의 한 주민이 그에게 이곳에서 나오는 지하수가 몸에 좋으니 마셔보라고 권했다. 이후 후작은 주민의 말을 듣고 에비앙 마을의 지하수를 꾸준히 마신덕인지 병이 깨끗이 나았다.

그러자 의학자들이 에비앙 마을의 지하수 효능을 연구하기 시작했다. 에비앙의 지하수가 알프스 산맥의 비가 약 15년에 걸쳐 내려오면서 정화되었다는 사실과 에비앙 지하수의 미네랄을 비롯해 인체에 좋은 성분이 다량 함유되어 있음을 발견했다.

이 소식을 들은 에비앙의 한 주민이 에비앙 마을의 지하수를 단순히 물의 개념이 아닌 약으로 상품화 했고, 이 결과 1879년 에비앙 생수는 프랑스 정부로부터 공식 판매허가를 받아 상품으로 판매된 세계 최초의 물이 되었다.

단순히 마시는 물이 아니라 사람을 살리는 스토리를 담았기 때문에 비싸도 에비앙 생수는 인기를 얻고 있다. 현재 매월 3천만병이 팔려 나가는 세계 최고의 생수가 되었다.

꿈은 '없는 것을 있게 하는 것'만이 아니라 '있는 것을 재발견하는 것'이다. 꿈이 있는 사람은 이미 있는 것에 가치를 부여하는 사람이다.


◇ 황하상유징청일 (黃河尙有澄淸日)
황하의 누런 물도 언젠가는 맑게 바뀔 날이 있을 것인데

기유인무득운시(豈有人無得運時)
어찌 사람에게 행운이 올 날이 없겠는가.

지금은 비록 어려워도 언젠가는 행운처럼 기회가 찾아온다는 뜻으로
