 ◇ Many American soldiers also participated in the Korean War, especially nursing officers.  They participated in the entire Korean peninsula, from the Nakdong River front to the Yalu River basin, and made great contributions.

 The US Army Nursing Corps had only 3,450 people at the time of the Korean War, but increased to 5397 in one year.  During the war, 540 nurses recruited volunteers and nurses.  Most of these were reserve soldiers who participated in World War II.

 With the outbreak of the war, the US Air Force Nursing Service also entered the casualty evacuation mission to evacuate approximately 3,900 patients after the intervention, and over 350,000 patients have been evacuated by the Air Force for three years.

◇ 한국전쟁에는 수많은 미 여군도 참전했는데 특히 간호장교들의 활약이 두드러졌다. 이들은 낙동강 전선부터 압록강 유역까지 한반도 전역에 걸쳐 참전하며 지대한 공을 세웠다.

미 육군 간호대의 경우 6·25전쟁 발발 당시 3450명에 불과했으나 1년 만에 5397명으로 증편됐다. 전쟁 중 자원, 간호대에 입대한 간호사도 540명이나 됐다. 이들 대부분은 제2차 세계대전에 참전한 예비역들이었다.

미 공군 간호대도 전쟁 발발과 함께 사상자 공중후송임무에 투입되어 중공군 개입 후 약 3900명의 환자를 후송했고, 전쟁 3년간 공군 간호대가 후송한 환자는 35만여 명에 이른다.
